Hello Family, Friends, Colleagues, Partners:
After we received our 501c(3) federal recognition as a nonprofit charitable organization, we've been working diligently on strategic planning and fundraising goals. Giving glory and honor to God, and a special thanks to our new Executive Director, Morris Nwogwugwu, we’ve successfully completed "Phase 1" of our planning, which included programmatic goals and grant proposals.
Our organization recently developed four community programs to support health and nutrition awareness, the elderly and disabled, at-risk youth, and homeless individuals within the lower socioeconomic population of Northeast Houston. We "kicked off" our "Healthy Habits" health & nutrition awareness program with a "bang" this past year at Hobart Taylor Park in Northeast Houston's Settegast community, and it was a blast! We administered blood pressure checks, provided healthy "meals on wheels", distributed brochures, and had lots of fun "line dancing" with the clown!
We are hopeful, with continuous prayers, and by the grace of God, that we work diligently to meet our next goal of implementing our "Innovative Youth" summer enrichment program very soon (contingent on funds).
We've also established a women's ministry with a primary goal to support women, youth, and children. Our women's ministry blossomed with a fresh start this past year in working with our Innovative Youth. The group have been meeting regularly, and they are learning to be supportive of one another while enjoying their outings.
We would also like to give a special thanks to Nyree Roberts for her donation on behalf of the HCA Healthcare Foundation. The donation allowed our Innovative Youth to meet for a weekend outing of recreation, spiritual enrichment, home economics, food, and fun, and it also provided food for a foster child.
The women's ministry has established a recent partnership with The Depelchin Children’s Center (to join in their quest of fostering and providing safe and loving homes for children), as well as a partnership with local churches in the Northeast Houston community to provide spiritual enrichment for individuals desiring to deepen their faith.
The Women's Prayer Call kicked off with a fresh start on 4/16/2024 to encourage women of all ages to be supportive of one another through the power of prayer. The goal is to prayerfully support as many women as possible in this endeavor. The call is every Tuesday promptly at 7pm central time (for about 10-15 minutes).
